There are a number of myths and misunderstandings around training for women. From simple things that lifting weights is just not for women, to lifting will make you bulky, and my favourite, women should stay away from heavy weights.
The truth is weight training is as much for women as it is for women. And training with weights is the easiest way to stay young. Weights will create a strong and toned body, boost metabolism, help you burn more fat, and help you look your best! Moreover, lifting weights and more importantly, lifting heavier weights will lead to two things that will have a direct impact on your quality of life:
It will make you functionally strong, so whether you are playing tag with your kids or friends, or changing a car tyre, you will be able to do it easily.
Lifting weights builds strong muscles but also strong bones. Bones react to the added stress of the weight against gravity and will acts against conditions like osteoporosis.
At Born Infinite Training, women are posed the same challenges as men. An additional ask we pose all our women athletes is to challenge the notion of how strong they truly are. Our goal is all women should be able to do a full strict pull up within 8-12 weeks of training.
